David Blum was born in 1986 and grew up in Strasbourg in France, surrounded by a generation of chazanim Ashkenazie.
Studied Chazzanut at the Cantorial Traditional Ashkenazi Art with his brother Chazzan Jonathan Blum and Chazzan Michel Heymann.
He began his singing career in the Great Synagogue of Strasbourg, joined the Strasbourg Male Choir “La Choral du Chant Sacré” as a child soprano, managed by the maestro Hector Sabo who was in charge of his musical training.
Since a young age he was chazzan davening shabbat services and lead high holiday services.
In 2008, he moved to London where he performed at different communities including Raleigh Close and Marble Arch Synagogue.
In 2013, David made Aliyah and studied at the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute under the world renowned Cantor Naftali Herstik.
David has been the cantor at The International Synagogue of Tel Aviv since 2014 as well as occasionally davening at the Great Synagogue and Ichud Olam in Tel Aviv.
David maintains his vocal expertise by training regularly with a professional singing vocal teacher
who is renowned for her experience in teaching chazzanut professionals in Israel.
David officiates at numerous Shabbatot, Wedding Ceremonies, Chuppot and Bar Mitsvot as well as concerts in Israel and in Europe: France, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Netherlands.
