Cantor Yaakov (Yaki) Lauer was born in Israel in 1992. He is a graduate of the Central School for Chazanut in Petah Tikvah where he was a student of Maestro Elli Jaffe, conductor of the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir.
Since the age of 18, Cantor Lauer has served as cantor during the High Holidays in various locations: at the Central Synagogue in Jerusalem’s Kiryat Yovel; Jerusalem’s Heychal Shlomo Synagogue; the Ramat Shalom community in Mexico; and the Merkaz Yaakov community in Singapore. He has also served as a guest cantor at some of the most important synagogues in Israel (in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Ramat Gan and Petah Tikva) and in Europe (in Belgium, France and Poland).
As a concert artist, Cantor Lauer has performed in throughout Israel, highlighted by appearances with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Raanana Symphonette, conducted by Maestro Elli Jaffe and Maestro David Zeba. He also performed at the annual Adar Concert in Mexico and at a Melaveh Malkah meal at the Krakow Jewish Festival. He has appeared alongside artists such as Cantors Yitzchak Meir Helfgot, Yaakov Motzen, Israel Rand, Benzion Miller and Dudu Fisher. He has been soloist in choirs conducted by Maestro Yossi Schwartz and at the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir conducted by Maestro Elli Jaffe.
